Churning Report: Prime Day 2024
Today marks the last of a two-day annual shopping sale hosted by Amazon. During Prime Day, nearly everything one could ever wish for is on sale. While not everything will have a huge discount, at least there is a discount (which is better than no discount). But even then with discounts, items that you’ve been eyeing might have been marked up higher than retail value; so with the discount, it deceives you into thinking you’re scoring a deal.
One category of merchandise that always goes on sale during these two days is gift cards. To recap this year’s prime day, the haul was decent, but not the greatest. I decided to only to focus on churning eGift cards because waiting for physical cards to arrive by mail is not worth it to me at the moment. The majority of the deals were just 20% off when purchasing a $50 gift card.
All the gift cards I churned broke even at minimum, and that doesn’t include the 5% back from the Amazon Prime Visa (which if you don’t have already, use my referral to get $50 if you want to apply. I’ll link it below). For an hours worth of work, I churned about $1.1K, which was about average.
